Edel Sakwa supports LIGHT as a Multimedia and Communications Officer. She draws on more than 15 years of professional experience in digital communications with a focus on multimedia, graphic design, creative visual identity, photography, copy writing and editing (for both print and digital), publications production and digital marketing. She has managed teams and coordinated multiple projects and technical suppliers. She has worked on projects for both local and international organisations.
Before joining AFIDEP, Edel was the Production and Creative Manager at Realone Concepts Ltd – a graphic design and printing agency. She has also previously worked as a Social Media and Communications Manager for Sparkplug Women of Influence (SWOI); a Production Manager and a Graphic Design Studio Manager for Oakland Media Services; and as a Graphic Design and Editorial Coordinator for Media7 Group.
Edel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Media Studies having majored in Public Relations; a diploma in Fine Arts having majored in Graphic Design; and a professional diploma in Digital Marketing. Her areas of interest are in digital communications for social impact. She is currently completing her Masters degree in Communication for Development majoring in Digital Communications from the United States International University (USIU) - Africa.
