Dr Bruce Kirenga is Chief Research Scientist and Director at the Makerere University Lung Institute in Uganda. He is a respiratory physician with over 10 years’ experience of conducting clinical and programmatic TB research and other lung health related research. His research interest is currently focused on understanding the drivers and mechanistic processes of airway diseases in Africa. Recently he has established a lung cancer research program and is actively involved COVID-19 research. He is the Programme Team Lead for LIGHT Consortium in Uganda and has over 10 years’ experience of initiating and coordinating programmatic, training and research health projects.
