Dr. Winters Muttamba is a public health scientist. Winters formally trained in Medicine and Surgery at Makerere University, he has an MPH from International Health Sciences University and a Post graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from Uganda Management Institute. Prior to research project management, he was an HIV clinician in a regional referral HIV clinic. His main research interests are in infectious diseases (HIV and TB). He has coordinated TB molecular diagnostic evaluation studies, GeneXpert roll out studies, TB patient cost surveys, Quality of TB services assessments as well projects aimed at increasing TB case finding in Ugandan health facilities. He also managed African Severe Asthma Project; a large multi-country project in Eastern Africa (Uganda, Kenya and Ethiopia). He sits on the in-country technical working group of the East African Public Health Laboratory Networking Project and works closely with the national TB program.
Winters brings to the consortium several years’ experience in project management as well as scientific dissemination.
